I found Ocean Chopticks while on a drive to Redcliffe. The colorful shop exterior and witty name caught by attention. I eventually stop by a couple of times more with my 4x5 camera before settling on this shot.
Lemon Chicken while synonymous with traditional Australian Chinese Restaurants is not an authentic Chinese dish. This dish was created by the first major wave of Chinese migrants to suit western tastes.
Nowadays, these old-school first-generation Chinese restaurants are considered old fashioned and out of touch and are going out of business one after the other. And with this, will the Lemon Chicken too fade into the past as a distant memory?
